Planning

The Planning Authority for the village is the South Downs National Park Authority as Greatham sits wholly in the National Park.

Greatham Parish Council  acts as a consultee on any planning applications submitted to the SDNPA. Sometimes we will make a site visit or speak to neighbours depending on the perceived impact of the development before we agree our response.

Our Planning Committee meet on the 4th Monday of the month (if applications have been received) to discuss and agree responses to applications. Depending on the timing of applications received, they may be discussed and agreed at our monthly Parish Council meetings. We are always happy to see the planning applicant at our meetings and we usually invite their comments. There is also an opportunity for other residents to comment during the public questions section of the meeting.

We will formulate and agree our response to the application(s) at our meeting and then submit them to the SDNPA.
