Wanted Coryton Almshouses Trustee
The Coryton Almshouses Trust (registered charity no. 208239) was established over 80 years ago to provide housing for those over the age of 60 with limited means from the Liss, Greatham or Hawkley communities, and who have at some point worked on the land or in associated employment. To that end, the Trust manages four attractive one-bedroom Victorian cottages in West Liss.
The Trustee body numbers seven Trustees but due to recent work to modernise the governance structure of the charity, a number of vacancies will arise in the next few months.
This represents a great opportunity for the charity to broaden its range of available skills and to welcome new Trustees to our team who are dedicated to ensuring the best possible duty of care to our residents and the properties they occupy.
We are looking for individuals who match the following criteria:
General:
- must be resident in Liss, Greatham or Hawkley
- prepared to devote time for a period of up to three years
- energetic, enthusiastic individuals who ideally have some knowledge or experience of the voluntary sector
- able to work as part of a team
Specific experience sought
- property management and maintenance
- finance and investment
- governance and administration
- chartered surveying/architecture
- caring, welfare and benefits professions
- marketing and promotion
- project management
If you would like to join a worthwhile, well-established local charity and have something to contribute, please send a short note about yourself and the skills, knowledge and experience you have to offer – in confidence – to Trust Secretary Tony Godby at by no later than 20 March 2023.
